Sarova Shaba Game Lodge

A large piece of property with lush landscaped gardens of lawns, trees and indigenous shrubbery, fed by a rerouted spring that meanders through it on its way to the river, Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is a value accommodation in Shaba National Reserve. The Ewaso Nyiro River flows close by and the lodge’s resort-style swimming pool sidetracks to the mood of serenity with birds singing in the trees, monkeys scampering about and fish swimming in tiny pools around the lodge. Stone paving and the small wooden walkways bridge the miniature streams leading to the lodge’s two-story chalets that are architecturally shaped with stone and thatched roof structures thus adding a hotel-like appeal to it.

The lodge welcomes budget families vacationing in Africa, but they do advise that you keep watch over the kids at all times. They offer 80 Standard Rooms and 5 Suites, each of which overlooks the river. The Standard Rooms are sited in two-level chalets that house 4 rooms apiece. The rooms have a double bed covered with mosquito netting, but some of the rooms also have twin or triple beds. Hand-drawing frames adorn the walls and bamboo-woven easy chairs along with side tables, dresser and lampshades add to its modest, comfortable appeal. Area rugs are scattered on the stone floor and a ceiling fan circulates air. The room also includes a mini-fridge and tea and coffee making equipment for your use. Attached bathrooms include a bath and the basic amenities typical of a budget establishment. Mobility challenged Gazelleinternationaltours  guests will find the floor level rooms accessible to their basic needs.

Sarova Shaba  is set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river. The Lodge has a virtual mini forest of indigenous trees, a fish pond and a large free form swimming pool.
