Admire the Alhambra Palace complex with beautiful buildings & gardens in Arab style then visit Pastéis de Belém in Lisbon; widely recognized as the patisserie to sample the authentic pastel de nata (custard tart) in Lisbon. Since 1820, the original recipe hasn’t changed, and it’s still a secret today, known by only a few, and kept in what is known as the “secret room”. Elevator ride to upper Lisbon to admire the quarters of Castelo & the Belém area in Lisbon. See Lisbon’s rich architecture; ranging from Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Baroque, Modern to Postmodern constructions. Drive to Madrid and stop in Toledo ‘the city of the three cultures’, have a taste of local cuisines prepared here plus a brief sightseeing drive/walk to Zaragoza & Barcelona on the coast of northeastern Spain to explore its eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites with a walk along its scenic beach promenade.
